Wonderstrike gets lured into the Masked Man's trap and finds he has a plan to crush her with the mystical power of voodoo. Doubting this dark art, she goes on the attack, only to find that he has a powerful control over her movements, and the doll he produces to represent her can be used as a form of torture. Wonderstrike is drawn into a trap instigated by the Masked Man when he fakes an emergency. His dreadful reputation precedes him, and she is cautious, expecting a technological onslaught.
