She traces him to a hotel room at the edge of town hoping to get the dirt on him, however what she didn't realize is that it was all a ruse for a trap. Whitney winds up caught and tied to a chair. She discovers that the man and his wife had set her up as they are intending to steal millions, and knowing Whitney is in debt herself, are going to frame her. Using her phone to go ahead with the robbery, they need to keep Whitney out of the way while they commit the act. Before he leaves, he cleave gags Whitney with a thick, white cloth. Leaving the beautiful detective bound and gagged, Whitney tries to get loose, to which she does after some furious struggling. However, her captors return in time and have to settle for Plan B with Whitney still captive. He reties Whitney securely and she is OTM gagged with a white cloth, a fitting gag for the plucky detective. She is to be used as a hostage and must be left while the captor prepares his getaway car. Left alone, this gives Whitney a chance to escape, writhing through the ropes and struggles to get her tight gag off, the stuffing only muffling her grunts more.
