She is unaware that the leader of the group, a man simply known as "The Red Cloak" is approaching her from behind. While some distance away, he uses his mind to disable Wonder Woman's powers, making her stand perfectly still and drop her shield. He comes closer and whispers in her ear, "I've got you now." Wonder Woman soon finds herself staked out on the ground and gagged. The Red Cloak sticks around to gloat over his prize while he waits for his colleagues to arrive. When he sees Wonder Woman summon sufficient power to pull one of the stakes free, he uses his mind control again. He decides it would be safer to keep this woman is a confined space, and soon she is tied to a chair, her strength still gone. The Red Cloak tauts her as she struggles in futility, finally gagged her to shut her up. He departs and leaves his captive to struggle, knowing that she will not be able to free herself this time.
