玛丽·琳惊恐万分,无法挣脱,她意识到自己已经无路可逃。Mary Linn has just quarreled with her boyfriend during a trip abroad. Frustrated and upset, she decides to leave him and head for the next town, where she plans to catch a flight home.
She tries to call an Uber or a taxi, but her phone has no battery charge left, leaving her stranded alone in a foreign country. With no other option available, she reluctantly decides to hitchhike.
A car stops. The driver appears to be a friendly man who speaks broken English. He understands that she wants to travel to Ferrara and offers her a ride. As he opens the trunk, Mary Linn notices a single women's shoe inside. Slightly embarrassed, the man explains that it belonged to his former girlfriend.
Uneasy, Mary Linn begins to feel that something is wrong. Trying to remain polite but clearly nervous, she tells the man that she has changed her mind. At first, he reassures her, but then he suddenly seizes her and covers her mouth with his hand. Mary Linn is almost paralyzed with surprise.
He secures her wrists behind her back and silences her with a cleave gag. He then places her in the trunk of the car, removes her shoes and one sock, stuffs the sock into her mouth, and secures it in place. Terrified, Mary Linn struggles helplessly as the trunk closes and the car drives away.
In the next scene, the man carries the model into a house and places her on a sofa. He adds more rope on screen and re-gags her, this time using strips of tape. Before leaving the room, he warns her not to attempt an escape.
As soon as he is gone, Mary Linn desperately tries to free herself. She slides off the sofa and crawls across the room until she notices a cell phone on another couch. Grunting with effort despite her tight restraints, she manages to reach the phone. However, when she tries to use it, nothing happens. The phone appears inactive.
When the man returns, he seems amused. He explains that he intentionally left the phone there without a battery, simply to watch her struggle and become frustrated. He then tells her that, because of her behavior, he must make her restraints even more secure.
He adds additional rope, eventually placing her in a hogtie position that leaves her with very little mobility. After making sure she cannot go anywhere, he leaves her alone once again, helpless and struggling.
Before departing, he explains that he recently quarreled with his partner as well. Unlike Mary Linn, however, he decided to get rid of her permanently. He claims that finding Mary Linn on the roadside felt like destiny—a perfect replacement for what he had lost—but now she has ruined everything.
He tells her that he must first take care of unfinished business involving his former partner and that he will return afterward.
Terrified and unable to free herself, Mary Linn realizes that she has no way out.
