“We move tonight,” Rachel said coldly. “That student Nikki has been poking around too much.”





A few minutes later, Nikki arrived for her private session, dressed in a tight long-sleeve crop top, glossy black leather trousers, and trainers — every bit the eager young trainee detective. She asked her usual innocent-sounding questions, but Rachel caught the suspicion in her eyes. The session ended, and Rachel politely showed her out.





Nikki only made it as far as the hallway before “forgetting” her bag. She slipped back inside. While searching for it, she spotted a drawer half-open, filled with stolen jewellery and shipping papers bearing Rachel’s name. Heart racing, she reached for her phone.





A large hand suddenly clamped over her mouth from behind. Nikki’s muffled scream was cut short as Erasmus dragged her into the side room. In minutes she was expertly tied: rope biting into her ankles and thighs, wrists secured tightly behind her back. A single wide strip of silver duct tape was pressed firmly over her lips.





“Mmmph!” Nikki struggled wildly on the floor as Erasmus went to fetch Rachel.
